Running a pathology lab smoothly can be tough without the right tools. Managing everything from test setup to patient records and report generation requires precision and organization. That’s why we created a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) using PHP, MySQL, and Bootstrap.

This system is perfect for pathology labs, diagnostic centers, or students looking for a simple, effective way to handle lab operations.

What is a LIMS?

A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is software used in medical labs to manage:

  • Patient registration
  • Sample collection
  • Test administration
  • Result entry
  • Report generation

Instead of relying on manual logs or spreadsheets, LIMS automates the process, making everything faster and more accurate.

Key Features of Our LIMS

1. Role-Based User Access

– Admin: Defines tests, adds parameters like WBC and RBC, sets prices, and enters results.
– Collection Point User: Registers patients, collects samples, and generates receipts with patient login info.
– Patient: Logs in to view or download test reports.

2. Test Management

Admins can create various tests (e.g., Blood CP) and add multiple parameters such as WBC, RBC, Platelets, along with normal ranges and units. This ensures reports comply with medical standards.

3. Patient Registration & Sample Collection

The collection user registers patients quickly with just a name and phone number, selects tests, and generates a receipt containing login credentials.

4. Report Generation

After tests are processed, admins enter results, and patients can log in to download reports in PDF format. Collection staff can also print reports for patients on the spot.

5. User-Friendly Interface

Built with Bootstrap, the system is responsive and works well on both desktops and mobile devices.

Why Use This LIMS?

  • Minimizes manual errors
  • Saves lab staff time
  • Gives patients online access to their reports
  • Simplifies management of multiple tests and parameters
  • Provides secure logins for admins, staff, and patients

Who Should Use This?

  • Small to medium pathology labs
  • Diagnostic centers managing diverse tests
  • Students wanting hands-on experience with real-world PHP/MySQL projects

Summary

This Laboratory Management System in PHP MySQL offers a simple yet complete way to handle lab tasks like patient registration, test setup, sample handling, and report generation — all in a clean, easy-to-use interface. Whether you run a lab or want to learn PHP/MySQL through a practical project, this LIMS is a great choice.
